Catholic Education Week

Catholic Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the faith, hope and learning that bring our Catholic school communities together. Our Fort McMurray Catholic Board of Trustees remains deeply committed to Catholic education, nurturing each student's spiritual growth, academic success and personal development in a Christ-centred environment where all are welcome and all belong.

Our commitment is reflected in our Board's four strategic pillars: Faith First, Student Success, Sustainable & Future Ready System, and Cultivating Relationships. Together, these priorities affirm our responsibility to keep Christ at the centre of all we do, support every learner, build a strong future for Catholic education, and strengthen the relationships that unite our students, families, staff, parishes and broader community.

Over the past weekend, our Trustees were honoured to share the Message from the Bishops of Alberta during Mass, joining our faith communities in reflecting on the importance and enduring promise of Catholic education. As we celebrate this year's Catholic Education Week theme, The Power of the Holy Spirit, we are reminded that the Holy Spirit strengthens us in faith, guides our work and fills us with hope as we continue our shared mission of Catholic education.

Catholic Education Week Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We thank You for the gift of Catholic education and for the students, families, staff, clergy and communities who bring our schools to life. Strengthen our faith, renew our hope and guide us in fulfilling the mission of Catholic education.

As a Board of Trustees, may we faithfully live out the message of Catholic education by sharing Christ's love, recognizing the dignity of every person, welcoming all, and creating opportunities for every student to grow in faith, knowledge and understanding.

As we celebrate this year's theme, The Power of the Holy Spirit, may we be filled with joy and peace in believing, and may our words and actions reflect the hope You promise us.

We pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to guide our Catholic school communities.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.
